I saw this incredible indigo sky at twilight as I drove home from choir practice one beautifully crisp late summer evening. I was just passing the airport when the intensity of the sky caught my eye. At that moment I decided I would create an abstract with the same sky I was enjoying, that also had the sense of looking down from above as if you were flying.
The lone twinkling star over the horizon represents the enjoyment I gained from those few precious moments of solitude alone in the car. A welcome break from a crazy summer of the continued adjustment to motherhood while also trying to create paintings at the pace of a crazed maniac during my son Nathan’s nap times. (A balancing act I‘m happy to report that I think I've finally worked out after 2 years.)
[ The painting called "twilight" can now be viewed in person, sailing across Lake Michigan, as it is part of the Lake Express high speed ferry's permanent collection of paintings. http://www.lake-epress.com ]
