This abstract oil painting is #9 in “the fruit of the spirit” abstract series.
The idea behind this painting is that self-control is more than just NOT doing the WRONG thing; it's also being sure TO do the RIGHT thing. The two go hand in hand with each other, and that's why the top and bottom are mirror images of each other.
It's also meant to communicate the idea that self-control is about the heart... my selfishness comes from within me and is not imposed on me by others.
I was inspired to create this painting from a series of sermons that I listened to. Here's a link...
“But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, and SELF-CONTROL.” — Galatians 5:22-23
