This abstract oil painting called “descending into greatness” was painted to express God’s power and glory; how His love impacted the entire world and human race when he descended from the heavens, entering the human race as a tiny baby.
It represents the moment in time when the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Sprit) entered the world as Jesus. Although a human man, He was still God and the Creator of the Universe.
The all-powerful creator of the universe left his throne in heaven to become a lowly man. His love for us was so powerful that he willingly humbled himself, knowing full-well that he would suffer a brutal execution for a crime he did not commit, to save us from our sins.
His power knows no limits, allowing the blood from His sacrificial death to cover my sins and make me clean in His eyes. Even today, His majesty and beauty are displayed throughout all creation. How could I NOT worship Him?
Psalm 19:1-6
A psalm of David
1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies announce what his hands have made. 2 Day after day they tell the story; night after night they tell it again. 3 They have no speech or words; they have no voice to be heard. 4 But their message goes out through all the world; their words go everywhere on earth. The sky is like a home for the sun. 5 The sun comes out like a bridegroom from his bedroom. It rejoices like an athlete eager to run a race. 6 The sun rises at one end of the sky and follows its path to the other end. Nothing hides from its heat.
