Looking at Lake Michigan is something I will never grow tired of. So the “lake michigan” series is one I plan to continue painting indefinitely. (I even have plans to paint the lake from the other side, after we visit Michigan‘s shores this summer for this express purpose.)
This particular view of the Lake comes from the Racine Zoo. We were there for the first time last October, and couldn‘t believe we had not taken advamtage of this hidden gem before. How many cities have a zoo that overlooks a body of water as large and blue as Lake Michigan?
The Racine Zoo is fairly small compared to The Milwaukee County Zoo, but I would trade a few bears and roaming peacocks any day, simply for the chance to enjoy this breathtaking view.
