This is a scene from my back yard, painted from a photo I took in the beginning of July when my hibiscus plants were in full bloom.

The striking blue bird bath has been with us since 2002, and this is its third location. It has added a wonderful splash of color to every yard it's lived in... especially in the winter months!

It was actually a gift from my mother-in-law, right after I had a miscarriage, so it has a lot of sentimental value.

Last winter we had a hard freeze and the bowl cracked in half. I didn't think it could be fixed, but also didn't have the heart to throw it away.

When spring came, we decided to give fixing it a try. So with some JB Weld and then later some clear caulk--Tim fixed it!

Now that the Blue Bird Bath is back in service, our yard looks complete again! :)
