This is the first painting in my series called "WATER." It's inspired by a trip we took to Edisto Island in the low country of South Carolina.
This entire series has a softer feel to it than most of my previous landscapes.
I wanted the big blue skies and various bodies of water and marsh grasses to create a feeling of restfulness and peace.
The elements of this piece that I'm particularly fond of include the tiny orange buoy floating in the water towards the horizon, and also the way the water is flowing over the sticks in the lower right foreground.
