This beautiful iris was growing in the garden I had in our little city backyard. It only bloomed for a week or so, but its short-lived life was glorious to enjoy.
I had this painting with me at my 2008 summer shows and it seemed to be a favorite. Often, people would comment that the flower looked like stained glass--the web site photo doesn't quite capture the luminosity of the blossom.
