In this painting I’m trying to create
the feeling that you’re relaxing near a rippling pond.
I took the photo that inspired this painting on the way home from our family
fall-get-away weekend in Geneva, Wisconsin. The day was one of the last beautiful Indian Summer days of the year.
I spotted this sparkling body of blue water as we passed it on the road, and as he usually is, my husband Tim was kind enough to turn around and drive to a spot where I could photograph it’s beauty. I took several photos of the entire pond, and ended up with another painting called “waterford”, but these particular "weeds" caught my eye too. It was as if they were dancing in the wind, knowing their days were numbered.
This painting is one that I had hanging in our bedroom before it sold. I can attest to the fact that the water and dancing wildflowers are quite restful!
