I took the photo that inspired this painting while on vacation. We were returning from Maryland back into Pennsylvania on a quiet country road, somewhere near the town of Wakefield, PA. Not far from this same area, we actually saw a field being plowed by a team of horses.
Spring had just begun to come to this part of the country, and I was struck by how green everything looked (especially compared to the brown that was still hanging around Wisconsin in early April.) I also liked the line of trees that seemed to be dancing to the wind.
