This view of Lake Michigan comes from the new bike path that runs into South Shore Park in Bay View. I took the photo for this painting in the fall of 2005, accompanied by my then 2-year old son, Nathan. It was one of the first times that he was old enough to sit and entertain himself for a couple of minutes while I was occupied with capturing the view. It was a gorgeous fall day, and we were sitting on the path enjoying the sunshine, just in front of some new condos that have gone up along the lakefront. So there are actually some lucky people who get to see this view from their homes every day!
