We pass this little church right as we are arriving into the town that my husband Tim's parents live in. For years, I thought it would make a great painting. I finally got a good photo of it and turned it into a painting. I had originally planned that the composition would simply focus on the church, but after some more thought I decided to include the crops and the road. My favorite thing about this scene is how intensely the sun was shining. I painted it so that you could feel the corn and soybeans sparkling on that beautiful fall afternoon.
