I took the photo that inspired this painting one fall day when I was visiting one of my dear friends in Warsaw, Indiana.
Before arriving at her home for a wonderful weekend visit, I spent some time driving around the countryside looking for barns I could photograph and then later turn into paintings.
The thing that caught my eye with this particular farm was how it seemed to be protected by the field that was between it and the road. I like how the barn feels like it's safe in the distance behind the strong wall of corn.
