This series of small barn and farm landscape oil paintings are meant to capture some of the beautiful scenery you'll find when spending a summer day on the back roads of Northern Indiana.
From what I've observed on our travels through that part of the country, it appears that white has become a more common choice of paint for the exterior of barns. I wonder what happened to the traditional barn red paint? Perhaps it fades more quickly in the sun, or maybe it's just a new decorating trend I'm not aware of.
Regardless of the reason, the white paint does lend itself to a more restful painting. I love how the shadows take on the colors of the sky.
