This oil painting is the sixth in my series called "WATER."
This group of landscapes was inspired by both the shores of Lake Michigan and the Low Country coast of South Carolina.
Having lived in both Wisconsin and now South Carolina, I wanted to show the beautiful coastal areas in both the Midwest and the Southeast part of the country.
The painting you're looking at is inspired by a pristine, empty beach in Saugatuck, Michigan (which is directly across the lake from Milwaukee.)
If you follow the path that leads down to the water, you'll hear seagulls talking to each other. Beside the hilly, grassy dunes, you'll find nothing but sand and water for as far as you can see.
