This series of small barn and farm landscape oil paintings are meant to capture some of the beautiful scenery you'll find driving along country roads in Northern Indiana.
I'm especially partial to the summer beauty found in that part of the country, as it's where I found the love of my life -- my husband, Timothy Scott.
We met at Grace College, and then fell in love during the summer of 1992 when he showed me all kinds of new roads and scenery that summer. (I'm actually not making some sappy metaphor here. We really DID spend hours driving throughout the countryside on the countless different roads he knew so well, having grown up in that area.)
Maybe my love for Indiana landscapes comes from the fact that is was all those wonderful hours spent together in the car (actually, it was a BIG red 1976 Ford 250 Pick-up Truck) driving and talking about anything and everything, that caused me to fall in love with Tim.
His family still lives there, so over the years we've made many more trips and memories through that area. The view from those quiet Indiana roads through the fertile fields is always refreshing to my soul, and a great reminder of how blessed I am to have found Tim there.
