“fruitville”

oil on canvas
40" x 30"

July 2006

I have an aunt and uncle who are wonderful hosts. We stayed with them for a week while visiting relatives in Pennsylvania during the beginning of April in 2006.

This field is one that we passed just about every time we came to and from their lovely home. There is a road close to this field called ”The Fruitville Pike“ so that is what inspired the name of the painting.

It could have been called "Sego Sago" (the name of the road this field is adjacent to) but I figured that was just too weird a name for a painting of a field with trees — unless of course you are from that part of PA, and know it is the name of a road, and not some type of martial art.
